If You Could Only See...

  • "Howl". Fourth track from Florence + The Machine debut album, "Lungs·. It's such a pity the song is not on the soundtrack, anyways, it's still epic!!!

Florence + The Machine has the best songs; Not only because Florence Welch's voice is like listening to angels, but also because the lyrics are so deep, so strong and they carry messages wrapped in mystery.

...Drag my teeth across your chest to test your beating heart...
Here's a link to the song on SoundCloud:

Hope you enjoy the song! :)

Katniss Everdeen
If this song were featured in the movie, it would have perfectly fitted in the scence where Katniss  buries Rue. Covering the burial, her salute, and some of the scenes following it.

Keep Your Eyes Open

  • While the official video is not out, I have this one that is as excellent as the song itself. Eyes Open was released as the third single from The Hunger Game: Songs From District 12 And Beyond. They did such an amazing job editing the scenes and they have created an epic video, a masterpiece. Watch it, it's worth it!

Is yesterday we were just children
Playing soldiers, just pretending
Dreaming dreams with happy endings..."♪♫♪♫

Some Flowers Close At Night

This is something curious I found about The Hunger Games:

Prim
Primrose bush
The character of Prim's full name is Primrose which is also the name of a bush with small flowers. Rue comes from the name of a small mountain flower. Both of them, are small and have a nice smell. Also, they both have blossoms that close at night. This symbolically recalls the fact that Rue died just before the night fell.

Rue
The flower from which Rue's name comes

Background

Well, I wanted to give beginners or strangers a little background on The Hunger Games. But I won't tell any detail that may discourage anyone of watching the movie or reading the book.
Well, after some sort of apocalypse, what once was North America has become the nation of Panem. There are 12 states or "districts" ruled by the Capitol. Although there was a rebellion against the Capitol, it failed and it came to pass a new law in order to avoid any new rebellious movement. Each year, each district must offer two young people, a girl and a boy, from 12 to 18 years old as "tributes" to compete against each other. From the 24 tributes, only one survives. From district 12, Primrose Everdeen is elected but her sister Katniss volunteers herslef to save her sister. Curiously, the male tribute is Peeta Mellark, who is secretely in love with Katniss. The whole event is televised on every district and watching it is compulsory to remember everyone the consequences of rebellion. The rest of the story is up to you, you decide wheter to stay with the doubt or you go buy the book or even cheaper, a ticket for the movie.

Never Let Me Go

Maybe you don't know but I love Florence + The Machine. Florence Welch's voice is just so gorgeous and of course her videos are amazing. I've gotta admit I admire her as a songwriter because I always need to listen to her songs several times before getting them.
Lately I've come to find out she released "Never Let Me Go" as a single and I automatically fell in love with the video and the songs, which I already loved. So, I thought it'd be nice to give you the link to the video and the lyric video as well.
One last thing, I recommend all of you to listen to the songs from Ceremonials. And I don't wanna do advertising or promotion or anything, but you should buy the album; it's totally worth the money. After 5:58 minutes, the CD is over and you feel different. The music changes you.

"The Hunger Games: Songs From District 12 and Beyond"

Ok, so "The Hunger Games" is my drug. I mean literally, I've read each book twice, seen the movie that's just com up a week ago twice. And I found out, the soundtrack of the movie, titled: "The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond" has hit the peak of the Billboard Hot 200 album charts. (It has hit several other charts in Europe as well.) And as soon as it was on sale i bought it and fell in love with it. I would like to suggest you to listen to the following songs:

  • "Tomorrow Will Be Kinder"
  • "Eyes Open"
  • "One Engine"
  • "Dark Days"

  • But one of the masterpieces in it is "Safe & Sound". Here there's a link to a lyric video on YouTube:

  • In case you fall in love with it as I did or even if you just liked it or would like to watch the video, here it is the link the the official videoclip on VEVO:

(One curious thing is that out of the 16 tracks from the album only three are used in the movie.)

Hello World

Hi! So my name is Nicolás, but I like people to call me "Nick". I'm 16, I'm from Uruguay and I consider myself quite different from the rest. I listen to indie music mainly, while in my country they listen to "Cumbia" and "Plena". They are called "kind of music" although I've got my doubts since it's a constant tin-crashing sound under the same beat, with shallow lyrics. However, I find indie music much more deep and unique when it comes to both, lyrics & sound. I also dislike stereotypes because I'm seeking a fair society, which I know is far from being the case nowadays. Well, I play the paino, sing and write songs mainly in English because even though I'm a Spanish native speaker, I love English just as much as I love music. And I do LOVE music with every piece of my soul. Apart from English and Spanish I started learning French, German and Italian but I had to quit because they took up too much of my time.
And I guess that's all I needed to say, well, I hate Justin Bieber and I would honestly kill him if I had the chance. About my beliefs, it's not that I don't believe in God. I've got my doubts, but for me God and The Church are two separate things, and I am against the church for being so narrow-minded. About God, I've got my doubts but I know I'll have a clear idea of what I believe in the future. My stronges and most solid belief is summed up in the phrase "Live your youth before it's gone. Live it so when your 27, 47 or 87 you can look back and say it was the best time of your life."
Oh! one last thing, well two actually. First, this blog will be entirey dedicated to music and The Hunger Games (I love ♥ both the movie [I've seen it twice already] and the three books). And last but not least, if you support bullying of any kind (towards black people, gays, girls or any other "minority"), or if you hate The Hunger Games, then please f**k off and get out if here!!! NOW!!!
For the rest who are intelligent, well-balance and sane people, you can stay and visit this blog as often as you wish, I'll try to keep it updated as long as I can.
Bye!
