We Are The Champions

Well, I've been away so far guys, I'm sorry. I've been busy and stressed out because of the IB. Honestly I've barely had time to listen to music, prepearing tests, oral presentations, etc. But a couple weeks ago, I made time to watch Glee'season finale. I cried. Endlessly. And I realised that I need to follow my dreams harder than ever. And that motivates me to write again. Because I was born to big something big. Bigger than the expectations of anyone. And the song that got the title of the post, "We Are The Champions" is my relal motivator right now. And I want to continue with this blog more than ever now, so I'll stay in touch guys.
No time for losers! ;)

Crystall Wings

(Sorry for bringing a break to The Hunger Games posts, but this is an emergency, time for friend intervention. Nick love his friends and he's gonna do something about some issues that are around.)

FriendsOk, here's the thing, my best friends ever, Agus & Fer have been having issues lately. And I wanted to make them know that I feel terrible for it, and I want them to say everything they hae to say. Don't let anything unsaid. You'll regret someday. Now, I want to let you know that you are truly the best friends one can ask for. I don't know what would I do without you. You are the only ones who understand every aspect of me. Girls, just realize we're young. We ARE SUPPOSED to have this kinds of arguments. But don't let them be the reason why you are angry or sad or hurt everyday. Better make them the reason you are who you are. These four songs are for you. The first one is to remind you, who you are FOR ME. The second one is just a song to make you know I wanna have a great time with you, that we're gonna get far together. The third one, well, just seven words: I WILL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR YOU. And the last song (not the movie :P ) is the friendship anthem.
Agus, Fer you are all I caould ask for, I really care for you and well, I'm short of words to express how thankful I am because you are my friends. Anything I can do for you, tell me and I will. THIS IS GONNA BE OUR YEAR, WE'RE GONNA KICK SOME ASSES AND BEAT SOME BITCHES. WE ARE THE DREAM TEAM.

Suicide?

So, here's the thing. I've been surfing the net the whole day and I found a really interesting discussion, about the death of Foxface. We all know she died because of the effect of the nightlocks, a very poisonus kind of berries that grows in the forest. (Of course, it's an element unique to The Hunger Games universe.) Now, did she eat them being unaware of their lethal poison or did she eat them deliberately?
Foxface
On the one hand, we know she was one of the most intelligent tributes. She was clever and she managed to make it to being one of the last four contestants to stay alive. This hints at the fact that she might have been aware of what she ate throughout the games. But after getting so close, she may have given up. Maybe she knew whoever stayed alive, sooner or later she would have to hold a fight with that person. Granted this, she might have decided to avoid a painfull death. I mean, she survived on her hiding skills and her speed but could not have held a combat which involved strength and brawn. She was at the edge of what would be a painful death. So in an attempt to die without any pain, she ate the nightlocks wishing to get out of that hell.
On the other hand, from what we know she comes from a district where the main idustry is electronics, so she might have had no knowledge of fauna. In addition, since she ate the nightlocks Peeta had collected it is possible that she tried to get free food without wasting energy on getting it. Besides, she was one of the tributes that had a good condition and suffered no compromising wounds.
Maybe we'll never know, but we can build our own opinions on this issue. That is one of the things I adore about The Hunger Games, they make you think.

If You Could Only See...

  • "Howl". Fourth track from Florence + The Machine debut album, "Lungs·. It's such a pity the song is not on the soundtrack, anyways, it's still epic!!!

Florence + The Machine has the best songs; Not only because Florence Welch's voice is like listening to angels, but also because the lyrics are so deep, so strong and they carry messages wrapped in mystery.

...Drag my teeth across your chest to test your beating heart...

Hope you enjoy the song! :)

Katniss Everdeen
If this song were featured in the movie, it would have perfectly fitted in the scence where Katniss  buries Rue. Covering the burial, her salute, and some of the scenes following it.

Keep Your Eyes Open

  • While the official video is not out, I have this one that is as excellent as the song itself. Eyes Open was released as the third single from The Hunger Game: Songs From District 12 And Beyond. They did such an amazing job editing the scenes and they have created an epic video, a masterpiece. Watch it, it's worth it!

Some Flowers Close At Night

This is something curious I found about The Hunger Games:

Prim
Primrose bush
The character of Prim's full name is Primrose which is also the name of a bush with small flowers. Rue comes from the name of a small mountain flower. Both of them, are small and have a nice smell. Also, they both have blossoms that close at night. This symbolically recalls the fact that Rue died just before the night fell.

Background

Well, I wanted to give beginners or strangers a little background on The Hunger Games. But I won't tell any detail that may discourage anyone of watching the movie or reading the book.
Well, after some sort of apocalypse, what once was North America has become the nation of Panem. There are 12 states or "districts" ruled by the Capitol. Although there was a rebellion against the Capitol, it failed and it came to pass a new law in order to avoid any new rebellious movement. Each year, each district must offer two young people, a girl and a boy, from 12 to 18 years old as "tributes" to compete against each other. From the 24 tributes, only one survives. From district 12, Primrose Everdeen is elected but her sister Katniss volunteers herslef to save her sister. Curiously, the male tribute is Peeta Mellark, who is secretely in love with Katniss. The whole event is televised on every district and watching it is compulsory to remember everyone the consequences of rebellion. The rest of the story is up to you, you decide wheter to stay with the doubt or you go buy the book or even cheaper, a ticket for the movie.
